LibreTime
Self-hosted radio automation: schedule shows, run playout, and stream to Icecast.

LibreTime is a free, open-source radio broadcasting and automation platform. Run a full radio station from a web console: build a program calendar, manage a music and audio library, schedule shows, mix live and pre-recorded playout, and stream to listeners over Icecast, all from a server you control.
Key features
- Web-based scheduling calendar for shows and playlists
- Music and audio library with automatic ingest and analysis
- Live and automated playout driven by Liquidsoap
- Built-in Icecast streaming server for your public stream
- Multi-user access with roles (admin, program manager, DJ, guest)
- Bundled PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ and all LibreTime services in one VM, no external dependencies to run
Use cases
- Community, campus and internet radio stations that want to own their stack
- Organizations running scheduled audio channels or in-house radio
- Broadcasters replacing a hosted automation service with self-hosted infrastructure
Why run it on the NetActuate edge Hosting LibreTime in a PoP near your listeners shortens the delivery path for the audio stream and the web experience, and keeps ownership of your library, schedule and audience with you.
Deployed from the NetActuate marketplace, LibreTime boots pre-configured from your seeded values: the database schema is migrated and the built-in default admin (admin/admin) is rotated to your seeded credential before the web console is exposed, and the datastore, broker and Icecast passwords are generated and persisted. Sign in at /login on port 8080 and start building your station. Public streaming and federation need a real domain name and TLS termination in front of the appliance (a documented follow-up); the single-VM appliance serves the full web console over HTTP on the instance IP out of the box.
Frequently asked questions
How do I deploy LibreTime on NetActuate?
Use the Deploy on NetActuate button to talk to our team. We provision LibreTime on a NetActuate virtual machine in the point of presence you choose, close to your audience. Each deployment runs in the single location you select.
What does it cost to run LibreTime?
LibreTime is open-source software and free to run on the marketplace - you pay only for the NetActuate compute (virtual-machine size and location) it runs on, at standard rates. There are no usage-based software fees.
Where can LibreTime run?
LibreTime can be deployed in any of NetActuate's 45+ points of presence across every continent, so you can place ingest, transcode, delivery and caching close to your contributors and viewers.
Who supports LibreTime?
NetActuate operates and supports the underlying infrastructure - the virtual machine, network and edge platform. The application itself is supported by its upstream open-source project.
