Wowza Streaming Engine (VPU)
The industry-standard live streaming server with NETINT Quadra VPU hardware transcode, one-click in VPU-capable PoPs (BYOL).

Wowza Streaming Engine (VPU) is the industry-standard live streaming server packaged for NETINT Quadra VPU hardware acceleration: RTMP, RTSP, SRT and WebRTC ingest, HLS/DASH packaging, recording, and hardware-offloaded transcoding via the Wowza VPU-integration (VIF) engine build. Deployed from the NetActuate marketplace it boots licensed and configured from your seeded values (BYOL) and, in a VPU-capable PoP with a Quadra card attached, offloads transcode to the VPU (HEVC / H.264 / AV1) to replace a rack of CPU transcoders at a fraction of the power.
This appliance runs the official Wowza Streaming Engine 4.11.2 VPU-integration images (engine + Engine Manager, tag 4.11.2-6-vif-1.0.1) as a docker-compose stack on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, both images baked into the image for fast first boot. Engine configuration persists across restarts.
Hardware: a NETINT Quadra VPU is required to use the hardware transcode path; deploy in a VPU-capable NetActuate location so a card is attached. Without a VPU the engine and Engine Manager still run on CPU. The open, non-VPU Wowza Streaming Engine listing is available separately.
