Marketplace
The NetActuate Marketplace is a catalog of ready-to-run media, streaming, networking, and infrastructure appliances that you can deploy to a NetActuate PoP in a few clicks. Each appliance is a curated operating system image plus the sizing and configuration it needs to run, so a deployed listing is a normal NetActuate virtual machine with the software already installed and seeded. Browse the catalog under Platform > Marketplace in the portal.
What the Marketplace Is
The catalog pairs open-source projects and commercial partner software with the NetActuate edge. Instead of building an image, installing software, and hand-writing cloud-init, you pick an appliance, choose a size and location, provide a small set of configuration values, and deploy. The appliance boots pre-configured and ready to use.
Appliances span live streaming and transcoding servers, WebRTC and real-time media, load balancing and caching, image processing, media storage, observability, and AI and ML workloads. The catalog currently lists over 100 appliances.
How It Works
- An appliance is an OS image plus metadata. Every listing points at a NetActuate OS image and carries sizing requirements (minimum and recommended CPU, RAM, and disk) and a set of seed fields.
- Seed fields configure the appliance at deploy. When you deploy, you fill in appliance-specific values (for example backend servers, a license key, or an admin password). These are written into the appliance at first boot. Secret fields are stored write-only in your account and can be generated for you.
- A deployment is a standard VM. Once built, an appliance runs as an ordinary NetActuate virtual machine that you fully control over SSH and through the platform, with the appliance's own management console where applicable.

Getting Started
- In the portal, go to Platform > Marketplace.
- Browse or filter the catalog by category, protocol, or use case, and open a listing.
- Review the appliance overview, sizing, and configuration fields.
- Click Deploy, choose a location and a server size (see Billing and Sizing below), fill in the appliance's seed fields, and confirm.
- When the build completes, connect to your appliance over SSH and open its management console if it has one.

Billing and Sizing
Every appliance lists a Minimum and a Recommended size:
- Minimum is the smallest server the appliance runs on, suitable for testing and light workloads.
- Recommended is a production-ready starting point for typical traffic.
You are billed for the NetActuate infrastructure you deploy (the server size you choose) plus metered per-GB edge egress. For BYOL appliances, the software license is billed separately by the software vendor; NetActuate bills only the infrastructure and bandwidth. See Billing and Sizing for details.
