Cloud VLANs

Cloud VLANs are NetActuate-delivered Layer 2 connectivity services that let you connect resources and network services at the switch level.

What Cloud VLANs Are​

Cloud VLANs can be used to:

  • Connect virtual machines, bare metal, colocation, Direct Connects, and other supported services on a shared Layer 2 segment
  • Extend private connectivity between locations where NetActuate can deliver the service
  • Support direct-connect style handoffs and other network services over a dedicated VLAN

Provisioning Model​

Cloud VLAN creation, design, and provisioning are handled by NetActuate based on your requirements. Customers work with their account manager or support to request:

  • The locations where the VLAN should be delivered
  • The resources or services that should attach to it
  • Any bandwidth, redundancy, or handoff requirements
