HTTP load balancers, groups and routes
An HTTP load balancer contains application groups, domains and ordered routes. Groups provide settings that routes can override.
Configuration objects
| Object | Purpose |
|---|---|
| HTTP load balancer | Contains your HTTP application configuration |
| Group | Associates domains and group defaults with an upstream group and backend port |
| Domain | Names the site clients request and exposes readiness and certificate state |
| Route | Selects request handling using priority and request matching |
A selected route can proxy a request, redirect it or terminate it through a policy. Route selection occurs before source policies and request budgets. Policy errors can stop a request before it reaches an origin.
