L4 load balancers
Use an L4 load balancer for TCP or UDP traffic. Its listener selects an upstream group without HTTP route matching.
Listener settings
| Field | Default or choices |
|---|---|
protocol | tcp or udp |
listenPort | 1 through 65535 |
tlsMode | none by default; none, terminate or passthrough |
doRequireDomainMatch | false by default; must be true when creating a group with TLS termination |
doLetsEncrypt | false |
proxyProtocolVersion | v1 or v2 |
idleTimeoutSeconds | 3600; 1 through 86400 |
Verify application behavior
Use a client for your application's protocol. Check listener protocol, port, origin port and TLS mode independently. A TLS failure can occur before any HTTP response exists. An HTTP request does not validate an arbitrary UDP service.
Saved configuration does not guarantee that the listener is active at every serving location. See changes at the edge.
