AzuraCast
AzuraCast is available in the NetActuate Marketplace as a one-click, open-source appliance you can deploy into any NetActuate PoP. All-in-one web radio: Icecast, SHOUTcast, Liquidsoap, playlists and stats. It is grouped under the Media & Streaming category.
What It Does
AzuraCast is a free and open source, self-hosted web radio management suite. It bundles everything a station needs into one application: a web-based management interface, the Icecast and SHOUTcast streaming servers, the Liquidsoap automation and playback engine, a media library, playlists and scheduling, live DJ and streamer support, listener statistics, a public player and request pages, and a full REST API.
Deployed from the marketplace, the appliance boots the complete AzuraCast Docker stack (web UI, database, cache, streaming servers, and automation) with no manual assembly. Your administrator account is created for you at first boot, so you can sign in to the web console and build your first station in minutes.

Open source and licensing AzuraCast is free, open source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3 (AGPLv3). The project is developed by its community at https://www.azuracast.com/ and https://github.com/AzuraCast/AzuraCast. NetActuate packages the upstream software as a ready-to-run appliance and supports the platform it runs on; AzuraCast itself is community-supported open source, and the AGPLv3 obligations (including making corresponding source available to users who interact with the software over a network) rest with the operator. Deploying AzuraCast in a PoP near your listeners keeps stream latency low and delivery paths short.

Using the Appliance
Get your station on the air
- Open the console. Browse to
http://YOUR_VM_IP/and sign in asadmin@azuracast.local. Your admin password was generated at deploy and is in your secret list. - Set your base URL (optional). In Administration then System Settings, set the Base URL to your public hostname so links and the public player resolve correctly.
- Create your first station. Go to Stations then Add Station, name it, and pick a broadcasting (Icecast or SHOUTcast) and AutoDJ (Liquidsoap) backend. AzuraCast assigns broadcast ports automatically in the 8000-8090 range.
- Add media and playlists. Upload audio under Media, create a playlist, and assign songs to it.
- Go live. Start the station, then listen on the public page at
http://YOUR_VM_IP/public/<station-shortcode>, or connect a live DJ over the station's source port.
FAQ
Is there a software license fee? No. AzuraCast is open source and free to run. You pay only for the NetActuate infrastructure and bandwidth.
Which port does the appliance serve on?
The primary service is published on port 80 by default; see the configuration fields for any adjustable ports.
Who supports it? NetActuate operates the underlying infrastructure. The application itself is community-supported open source (best-effort SLA class).
