What It Does
SPX Graphics Controller (SPX-GC) is an open-source, self-hosted broadcast graphics and character-generator (CG) system. Build and operate on-air overlays - lower-thirds, tickers, bugs, scoreboards, full-screen graphics - from a clean web control surface, and drive HTML template playout to a browser source in OBS or vMix, a built-in renderer, or a CasparCG server.

Using the Appliance
Deploy in minutes
- Open the controller. Browse to http://YOUR_VM_IP:5656 and sign in with username admin and the admin password from your secret list.
- Create a project and rundown. Add graphics items from the bundled templates (or your own HTML templates).
- Play out. Point an OBS/vMix browser source (or the built-in renderer) at the SPX renderer URL and take items on and off air from the controller.
Exposure posture: the appliance serves plain HTTP on port 5656 with user login enabled. For public/production use, put a TLS-terminating proxy in front (or a real hostname with a certificate) before exposing it.
FAQ
Is there a software license fee? No. SPX Graphics Controller is open source and free to run. You pay only for the NetActuate infrastructure and bandwidth.
Which port does the appliance serve on?
The primary service is published on port 5656 by default; see the configuration fields for any adjustable ports.
Who supports it? NetActuate operates the underlying infrastructure. The application itself is community-supported open source (best-effort SLA class).
